NIGERIAN NAVY 2018 RECRUITMENT

Who should apply for Nigerian Navy 2018? Applicants should possess any of the following educational and/professional qualifications:

  1. West African School Certificate/Senior Secondary School Certificate.
  2. General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level.
  3. WAEC City and Guilds or London City and Guilds.
  4. Ordinary National Diploma (OND).
  5. Any other educational qualification equivalent to those mentioned above.
  6. All applicants must produce their primary school leaving certificate.
  7. Applicants are to note that entry requirement into the following categories is SSCE or equivalent: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, C1, D1, D2, D4, D5, D6, E1, E2, E3, E4, F1, G, H. Any other additional qualifications in these categories can only serve as an added advantage for selection into the branch and not for advancement. See the guide for details.
  8. Any applicant possessing higher educational/professional qualification, i.e. HND, BA/BSc, etc other than those stated in Paragraph 1 (a-g) should not apply. Candidates are therefore warned that it is an offence to declare false educational/professional qualification. This attracts outright withdrawal or dismissal and hand over to Civil Police for prosecution.
  9. Any certificate or qualification not declared or tendered and accepted during the recruitment exercise is not acceptable after recruitment and cannot be tendered for the purpose of change of branch or advancement while in the Naval service. Only qualifications obtained through proper service provisions are tenable after joining.
  10. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 – 22 years at the time of entry into the Training School for school certificate holders, while 24 years of age is the acceptable limit for those with higher qualifications e.g. Nurses, NCE Holders, ICT Professionals, etc.
  11. Applicants must not be married or have children before joining.
  12. Applicant is required to print out Parent/Guardian Consent Form and Local Government Attestation Form.
  13. Applicants must be of Nigerian origin by birth.
  14. Applicants with any of the following problems are NOT to apply: short sight, ear problem, previous orthopaedic operation, flat foot, below the required height (Male 1.70, Female 1.67), fracture, stammering or any natural disability.
  15. Applicants must be free from any previous conviction by court of law on criminal charges.
  16. Applicants must come to the recruitment centres with the following documents:
  17. Photocopies of Birth Certificate or Age Declaration.
  18. Photocopies of Credentials.
  19. Acknowledgment Form.
  20. Duly completed identification form to be signed by Chairman or Secretary of the candidate’s LGA or by an officer of the rank of Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) or Equivalent and above from candidate’s State of Origin.
  21. Four passport photographs duly signed and stamped by any of the persons mentioned in Sub-Paragraph (c) above.
  22. Candidates are advised to bring the scratch cards of their NECO and WAEC results to the recruitment centres.
  23. The completed application form is to be submitted online.
  24. Applicants will be required to produce original of all copies of credentials listed in Paragraph 1 before recruitment.
  25. Any applicant suspected to have impersonated, forged or submitted false document(s) shall be disqualified from the recruitment exercise. Such applicant shall also be handed over to the Civil Police for prosecution.
  26. The date for the Recruitment Aptitude Test is 7 October 2017.
  27. Please note that any attempt to inundate the Naval Headquarters with letters from any quarters by any applicant will be viewed as a ploy to undermine the enlistment process and will lead to disqualification of such applicants. In addition, applicants are to note that the entire enlistment process is free and they should refrain from giving money to any individual under any guise.
  28. On completion of the application form, applicants are advised to click SUBMIT on the portal and generate the applicant’s Application ID.




2018 Navy Entry Requirement:

A1 – Marine Engineer Artificers:
OND in Marine or Mechanical Engineering (at least Lower Credit) and must also possess SSCE or equivalent with 5 credits inclusive of English Language, Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

A2 – Weapon Electrical Artificers:

OND in Electrical Electronic Engineering (at least Lower Credit) and must also possess SSCE or equivalent with 5 credits inclusive of English Language, Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
A3 – Aircraft Engineering Artificers (Airframe Engine) Qualification:
Diploma in Airframe & Engine recognized by ICAO and must also posses SSCE or equivalent with 5 credits inclusive of English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

A4 – Aircraft Engineering Artificers

(Avionics & Aircraft Electrics, Electrical / Electronics):
Certificate/Diploma in Aircraft Electrics & Avionics recognized by ICAO and must possess SSCE or equivalent with 5 credits, inclusive of English Language, Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

How to Apply for Nigerian Navy Recruitment

Interested members of the public are requested to note the following information on method of application. Applications are free of charge. Applicants are to apply only once. Multiple online applications will be disqualified.
The application portal is www.joinnigeriannavy.com.
  • Click on the Register button to create an account on this portal by providing a valid Email Address (which will be used as your User Name) and Password. Note: You will need your Email Address (User Name) and Password to log in next time.
  • Complete the Ratings Application form. You can save your application. You may log in at anytime before application closes to make changes to your saved application. Make sure you review your data carefully before submitting. Changes are not allowed after submission. You may not be shortlisted if you do not submit your application.
  • Download and print a copy of your completed Application form which must include the following parts:
  • Applicant’s Declaration and Certification by Parent/Guardian form.
  • Local Government Area Certification Form.
  • Police Certification Form.
  • Guarantor Form.
The Aptitude Test and Screening of Certificates of candidates will hold from….  .. ………  from 8:00 am nationwide at designated centres in various states. You must come along with your printed Application form.
The navy said it will make a public announcement whenever its recruitment process starts. Navy Capt. Suleiman Dahun, the director of information, in a statement issued in Abuja, said for the avoidance of doubt, the portal for registration of candidates for the 2018  Nigerian Navy recruitment exercise has not been opened.





A5 – Hull Engineer Artificers:

OND in Marine or Mechanical Engineering (at least Lower Credit) and must also possess SSCE or equivalent with 5 credits inclusive of English Language, Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

B1 – Marine Engineer Mechanics:

SSCE or equivalent with 5 credits inclusive of English Language, Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Also intermediate City & Guilds or Trade Test II could be considered. Technical biasness is an advantage.

B2 – Weapon Electrical Mechanics:

SSCE or equivalent with 5 credits inclusive of English Language, Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Also intermediate City & Guilds or Trade Test II could be considered, technical bias is an advantag
So the 2018/2019 Nigeria Navy recruitment exercise is expected to commence around June/July.
Interested applicants should read the following guidelines below to know the requirements to register for the Nigerian navy recruitment exercise for 2018/2019 .
According to Premiums Times, the naval chief of staff, Ibok Ete Ibas, said the 2018 recruitment exercise is free of charge for applicants, and that interested candidates are to apply once. He added that multiple online application will lead to disqualification of candidate.
His words: ”On submission, applicants are to print out the completed application form which must include; declaration and certification by parents/guardian, Local government area certificate form, Police certification form and guarantor form.
‘’The recruitment exercise will commence with an aptitude test and screening of certificates of candidates at designated centres for various States across the country on October 7.
“You are advised to carefully read the instruction page on the website or call support line 08159999011 from 9am to 4pm on working days.
“Candidates are further advised in their own interest not to give any form of gratification or inducement to any person or group of persons to assist them on the recruitment exercise,” he added.’’
