“Thus saith the LORD unto you,Be not afraid
nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude;for the battle is not yours,but
Gods” (2nd chronicles 20:15)
In 1792,the Duke of Brunswick,Commander in-chief
of the allied army during the French Revolution threatened to reduce Paris to
ashes with about Ninety thousand men.Shortly after his threat ,the blast of God
destabilized him and in the same year almost all his army was destroyed by a fatal disease and himself obliged to retreat .This incident
affirms Gods promise,in our text,to fight for his children.
