The list of Successful candidates of Nigerian Army Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) for the year 2021 was published last year after young qualified candidates wrote the entry exam on November 16, 2020. The successful candidates were Invited for screening process in Nigerian Army Training center, Falgore ,Kano, under which candidates were duly screened and brought under strenuous situations for the eligible ones who scale through each selection process to face the Board Interview.
The Recruitment process started under the tenure The former Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Tukur Brutai, then Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru who died in office last year, ever since then nothing have been heard about the list, despite many speculations on social media , the Army is yet to make any official statement on it.
However this did not stop the recruitment of this year DSSC year 2022, but how its going to be done and the implication of such in terms of commissioning of men into ranks ,sticking to the rigid culture of hierarchical order- (seniority by year of entry into service) is what is unknown.
Last year candidates are depressed and confused on what to do, some have moved into other careers , some married, while some don't have any other choice than to keep hope alive,since there is no official statement on it yet.
