7 LESSONS THAT NDA ARMED FORCES SELECTION BOARD INTERVIEW TAUGHT ME.

I was privileged enough to qualify for the AFSB interview at the Nigeria defence Academy and I got 7 golden lesson that changed my perspective about life.

1.BROTHERHOOD

We were group into batches, state by state, chest number given room allocated, although in a state we are all contesting for few intakes available, but there is moment where we need to do things brotherly, the group obstacle crossing is a must! We come together to put our intelligence, strength to achieve the mission.

Even in the hostel at night, we on the look for each other , although some candidates brought in phones for external communication which is against the rule, other candidate watch for them, stay at the door way as a police to check if a soldier is coming while the candidates are charging their phones or gadgets. @afomicworld2021,do not copy

2.HUMILITY:

Cadet serving job

when we sit together at the lines in our white and blue, there are royal children among us, senators relative, rich men children, poor men alike, military brats, civilian brats, but NDA doesn’t care, you sit on the floor! Together in the sun for hours till the screening is over.

Even we were opportune to see Cadets everyday as the venue is at the NDA old site, Ribadu Kaduna, the way the officers and prep wingers or senior cadets treat the termer one cadets is regimented regardless of if the termer one cadet is the commandant son or senator son, and no one is above job (punishment). @afomicworld2021,do not copy

3.CAMAREDERIE

NDA candidates matched in batches

In NDA, we wake up at the same time, go for laundry at the same time, leave the hostel at the same time, go to the mess at the same time, go back to the camp at the same time, and undergo screening at the same time although in small batches.

Even as for cadets, everything is Parade in Academy! Eating, sleeping drills, race, punishment and whatever it is done at the same time. @afomicworld2021,do not copy

4.DISCIPLINE

NDA cadet during a marching drill

NDA is the cradle of discipline, if you lack self discipline , NDA will give you one for free, just the two weeks we spent there we have already get used to waking up early at 3:00am fully ready for the day ,walk or jog in groups without scattering the line, and truth be told defaulters of indiscipline were punished. Being admitted as a cadet is a guarantee of a well discipline life where the iron habits are re-enforced again and again until it becomes an instinct! In case if you don’t know the Military academies is the most disciplined learning institution in the world. @afomicworld2021,do not copy

5.ONE MISTAKE MIGHT BE COSTLY:

For not bringing a photocopy of a required document you can be disqualified!

For a mere less serious medical issue you can be disqualified!

Just one statement during the interview with the board chairmen can ruin your chances! And for most mistake that we make as an individual they made us understand it have a implication on the whole body so we should try to minimize mistakes or not commit it at all, because just one team mate mistake or forgetfulness can ruin the life of an entire team!  That’s why sometimes we were punished collectively for one candidate offence!

One night my state was punished by a termer one cadet at the mess because some of us scattered the lines we are suppose to walk in , then making noise, there was also a candidate that slap a short military police , the whole candidates were punished, we were made to sit on our head! It was a painful experience, this happened during the Batch B 72 Regular Course Session. @afomicworld2021,do not copy

6.NEATNESS /PHYSICAL FITNESS:

we are always on white and blue, white socks, white canvas which must be sparkling neat all the time, especially when you want to see the board chairman!

While preparing for AFSB at home, have to eat good food, sleep well, avoid junks and practice for the 3.2km race do few PT and I felt so good in the body, same thing goes at academy! Fitness is life! There is good food so rich in nutrients, serve yourself menu but you can never get fat! Impossible!!! no matter how much you eat there is hell of Physical Training to wipe out pounds of weight in hours! Unfortunately forget sleep! You only cut Five!

Even after I wasn’t shortlisted in the final list, physical exercise and going for a 3.2 km race every Saturday became a norm for me, and it was beneficial to me, health is wealth!!!! It pays to be Fit! Ever gallant! @afomicworld2021,do not copy

7.YOUR BEST SOMETIMES IS NOT ENOUGH:

NDA cadets running cross country Race

Life is a battle! The Military is! NDA is! AFSB is! And War is the cruelest of them! All of us came for the screening after winning two battles, passing the JAMB exam, qualifying for NDA Entrance Exam, and among thousands per states excelled at NDAEE to be shortlisted among the top 80 in each 36 states of Nigeria! Waoh! what a battle but that is not enough, AFSB is another battle in different stages, some will lost it at Credentials, some at screening , some at board interview and some at the final list, despite doing our best.

World War I and II is full of series of battle, many proficient combatant were victorious at different battle, but as the battle keep coming, these men died while others prevailed! During the world war best snipers, pilots were killed, well decorated Generals were killed! They all did their best but sometimes it cannot be enough! Unfortunately not all had second chances! @afomicworld2021,do not copy

Same is life! You might try your best but it didn’t work out, do not give up! Keep going! Until you make it! Especially in a civilian world with less risk compared to military life, there are a lot of second chances! Don’t be afraid; go for it with all you best!

One funny fact about afsb is that it varies every year es per experience, no wonder academy is called academy of wonders. That you attended AFSB this year does not mean your experience next year will be exact, so be prepared for anything.@afomicworld2021,do not copy

Before you go NDAEE isn’t that hard as you think! Out of the hundreds or thousands in a state you can make it to the shortlisted 80 how? I wrote a book titled BREAKING THE WALL TO NDA i treat clearly how to finish the NDA compendium for your preparation, in fact there are a lot of people who claim to have finished the compendium yet they failed the exam! With this my book your story will change! The book give quick tips on how to pass the exam, then journey to AFSB, AFSB pro and co, tips and tricks.

Follow us on our Facebook page and message us the book is sold in digital format only, its just #1500 Naira only. Click on this➡️ link to message us on Facebook.

Please note that the book is a sure guarantee to Pass NDAE if its principles are well followed, then make it to AFSB and attend AFSB but your overall victory to the final list is in your hand or hand beyond your control, like I said your best is not enough.
