Your Key To Success:10 HABITS YOU MUST DROP AFTER LEAVING THE MILITARY

Your Key To Success in the Civilian world after your transition: This post give you 10  HABITS YOU MUST DROP AFTER LEAVING THE MILITARY

Whether you are retiring after meritorious service, or you were dishonourably discharged, YES! there are good habits you will learn in the military which will be discussed next week however there are many bad stuffs you need to unlearn.

Don't try this to your junior staff in the civilian hood

1.       Abusive words: Asshole! Mudda-fuckka! Whore! Fish! These are abusive words familiar with the USA and UK military, in Africa military these words are common =ya father! Ya  mother! Puck ya mother! Bloody civilian! Whatever the words maybe, you have spent a reasonable number of years that abuse you and teach you to abuse others from your first induction to your retirement your environment breed hurtful words that can make a civilian breakdown after leaving the military. Unlearn it sir! It won’t do you any good if you bring that habit into the civilian world, you will hurt fellow workers in your new found job, you might hurt your wife or kids, you will hurt strangers you meet at a mall. Maybe we should do it this way; whatever happens in the military stays in the military.

2.      Smoking: Yes that’s obvious; it’s dangerous to your health! It’s dangerous to the people around you.

It’s amazing that the military of most countries ban and discourage smoking when you are just entering the military but later on from nowhere, you pick up the habit of smoking, some soldiers testified its boredom at front-line, some justify it as weather conditions, they went through at different postings!
So you are smoking secretly right. Well you are outside of the military now and this freedom should not turn you into a god of smokes. Quit now! You will thank me later.

3.      Drugs: it’s not legal in the military, however many find themselves using it secretly, in the civilian world where you think there is freedom; you will subject yourself to be humiliated by drug law enforcement forces when caught. As a matter of fact when you just finish a session with crack, your brain can go nuts and you beat up everyone at home, pick up your rifle and go for a live GTA session. Stop drugs! Unlearn it!
4.      Trouble making: This is popular among African soldiers , while on active duty they find joy in humiliating , bullying  civilians and brand them as inferior, hence the word bloody civilian, you won’t go Scot free in the civilian world. Its common in Africa and Latin America to see military men use one-way route on highways  during times that doesn’t call for emergency, do not pay when using commercial transit, that won’t be possible now even if you wear a part of your uniform to board a public bus, you might get humiliated by a mean driver.

whatever you call it! its not Good!

Probably you must have learnt martial arts, know how to handle arms, don’t come out of the military to humiliate people with this or else you will rot in jail.
5.      Do or Die! : Your wife is not a junior officer you can bark at! Your colleague at the newly found job is not fresh cadet; if you happen to be an entrepreneur you can’t treat your workers military style sanctions. If you apply the aggressive and do or die attitude in the military to the civilian hood, you will spoil so many things.

That dove attitude you dropped before you join the military, pick it up again now you are leaving. Let’s do it this way be gentle as dove but ferocious like a tiger when time call for it.
6.       Hunger for combat: maybe you still want more fun at the front-line, sign up for another unit or join a mercenary or MMA sport, if not forget about anything like that as you journey back to the civilian world.

7.      Marital infidelity:

This doesn’t relate with everybody but there are service men that are fond of sexual escapades with different women per postings, especially in Africa soldiers are fond of having many affairs with women. When they are posted to different barracks they look for a lady nearby to explore their lust on, they end up having children who don’t know their fathers, broken marriage when their real partner discover, some even go to the extreme of multi-dating and cheating fellow military personnel .
Whether it’s in the military or civilian hood, marriage infidelity is not acceptable; if you are involved in this solve it wisely, if you are not, do not try it!
Many during their days on tour use pornography-masturbation as a means of escape from boredom, well I advise you personally; it’s not going to do you any benefit, in fact as a veteran you need to know about the #FighttheNewdrug movement it will help you a lot.
You may end up a rapist in the civilian world and if you think prostitute are there for you; your finance is decreasing, you are exposed to sexually transmitted diseases.
8.  EATING TOO FAST: Here this is more familiar, in training camp academy, depot or whatever you are breed to eat fast or else you get eaten up with curses from the Mess .

you got 2 seconds!!!!

In the civilian world when you finally transit people will be amazed or irritated by your fast eating skills.Military men are known to be able to consume a huge amount of games(meat) very fast, invite a veteran to your home this Christmas and watch him eat.
Therefore reduce your gear, you are no more in your boots.
9.        Sleeping Anywhere :

I cannot Come and kill myself

Due to short sleeps during combat periods, soldiers find it comfortable to sleep with any position anywhere, sleeping on the tank, sleeping on a tree, rock , roof is permitted and its just have to be brief in order to refresh.

This attitude will obviously follow you now that you are going back to your civilian world, whether its a bad habits or not depend on your perception but i think your doctor knows better. learn to sleep right!
10.   Criticizing : In the military, you are taught personal excellence, and you have many superiors which are over zealous about teaching it or even you! It's good, its except that it can grow into a over-criticizing spirit where you will always find error in things, in the civilian-hood, most people do things anyhow and it will shock you in their mood of dressing, their wardrobe setting, their time management, their work.if before retirement you are in a position that issue orders to large numbers of troops, then you may get into the error of a criticizing spirit. Flog it out now

Luckily Psychologist says it takes just 21 days to break up from a bad habit, and for solid unlearning it takes at least 3 months, therefore you can start now!
Thank you for reading, tell us other attitude to give up or what you think about the point explained above.
