2.Protection:

Are you afraid of ending up marrying a wife beater, a military man is not one, in fact there In military regulations, it is a serious offence for a military man to beat his wife, when such case is reported, his commanding officer will call him to order through numerous means which could involve days in the guard room, all the pay of such personnel diverted to his wife account, a serious and monitorable apology to his wife before he is being forgiven. In fact part of a soldier training is to protect you  that's why he is given the sword of honor on the wedding day, meanwhile for external protection, in a harsh and hostile country like Nigeria, who dares mess up with a military man wife most especially when she isn’t at fault, she married a warrior and she is already one by virtue of blood. A military Spouse carry a invincible mark which says, military zone, woe betide that person who fail to see that and trespass.

How about your children, especially females, no one try shitty things or sexually offensive thing against them. Your children learn to be disciplined at an early age.

3.Loyalty:

These are men who swore to protect their country with their lives, they are men of sacrifice, Politicians talk loyalty and patriotism but it’s the military that live such kind of life, they know what sacrifice means, therefore they know all the sacrifice involved on the part of their spouse; the lonely days when the  husband is deployed for too long, the sleepless night, fasting and prayers for his safety, taking care of the children all alone while husband is at the line of duty, the relocation stress from one base to another having to start life all over again.

The military man understands such sacrifice and will stay loyal to such darling wife, reasons why their return from deployment especially if it’s from the battlefield is like Christmas to their wives.

4.Physical Features:

Due to the peculiarities of their job, they are meant to be physically fit at all times, their dressing is worn with serious attention to details, their environment is damn neat, and they do things in order, and for most of them, they are so cute, they give ladies goose pimples, probably you should attend or check out a passing out parade of NDA cadets, or Nigerian Navy, Army, Air force, recruits. Military men are cute, courageous, neat, disciplines ….. The list is endless.

5.Exploration: Want to explore the different part of the country and beyond, marrying a soldier man offer you such opportunities, via his deployment to different base located in different part of the country, then you get acquainted with other ethnic group culture, the ubuntu system of barrack life, food of different ethnic groups and of course a different way of life.

6.Integrity/Straightforward: Soldiers don’t have time to beat around the bush, if their aim is to get laid with you, they tell you straight up, and if its marriage they tell you straight up, and they will stand by their words.

7. Upward Social Mobility:

Another common thing in Africa is ladies from the lower social ladder   getting married to a rich or average guy to get upward social mobility, well, the military doesn’t pay much, but at least they get paid sustainably most times better than their civilian counterpart in the civil service, (unemployment and poverty in Africa) for soldiers and for officers, and as they advance in rank, the pay does too.

Actually, some people feel marrying an officer will boost their ego, raise their status among peers, how wonderful it is when your school mates address you; Capt Blabla’s wife! If you feel you love such status, give a military man a chance in your life today.

8.Responsible: They have family at heart, whether deployed far or close , they make sure they provide everything the family needs to thrive or survive , even if their wives earn more than they do, they still take the role of Fatherhood much strongly.

9.Privileges: You also enjoy free medical care, free housing, insurance scheme, skill empowerment programme, education for your kids at subsidize rate or zero rate in military schools access to grants from their wives associations e.t.c all provided by the military..

10.Love:

All these said above, none come close to love, love conquer all things, if you love him, then the above points should be supplement to your love and not the main reason.

If you love him, accept his date, accept his proposal! Say yes! But realize that the day you say YES! Is the day you had actually sign up to serve with him, there will be good and bad times, it take more than a cute or handsome face to keep the marriage alive, love will see you both through tough times.
