The Defense headquarters in collaboration with lthe Rita Entertainment Television and other Nigerian Artists have organised a musical concert in honor of the Fallen Heroes and also encourages troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole fighting Boko Haram in the Northeast.
The Artists which includes Rita Daniel, Daddy Shokey, and other celebrities stormed Maimalari contonment Maiduguri where they stage their performance to boast the moral of the soldiers in the front line and also comfort the family members of soldiers in the battle field.
Speaking at the occasion. The Chief of Defense Staff. (CDS), General Gabriel Olunisekin said the concert tagged ” Tribute to our troops the Unsung Heroes Concert 2020 ” was organised as part of activities line up to mark the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
Genersl Olanisakin who was represented by Rear Admiral Nuhu Bala said “, the Maiden edition of the concert which tagged “Tribute To Our Troops, The Unsung Heroes Concert”was brought to Maiduguri to honour our fallen heroes and also encourage our troops in the front line.
He said: “the aim of the concert is to enhance public confidence and trust in the military through musical concert, corporate social responsibility and a visit to the troops at the theater by selected entertainment stars.”
“this measure will encourage all Nigerians to celebrate our Armed Forces in general and remember our veterans/fallen heroes and their families in particular, by honouring their service to our nation, so that, those at the front lines will feel appreciated and therefore be invigorated and stay committed to the service of our fatherland”, Olanisakin said.
The CDS said in the past 10 years, the Armed Forces of Nigeria has been engaged in the effort of keeping our nation secure by confronting the challenges of Insurgency, terrorism and kidnapping and other unpatriotic acts targeted against the safety and well being of the Nigerian people.
He said “the efforts of our gallant troops have cannot go unnoticed that was why the Defense headquarters organised this concert in order to identity with the troops and also enlighten the general public to keep identifying with them and also pray for their success.
Earlier in her address, the Executive Vice Chairman of Rita Entertainment Television (RET), Mrs Rita Daniel said ” we are here in Maiduguri to be with you and also encourage you for what you have been doing to keep our country secured. We are proud of you and we will continue to pray for you and identify with you.
In his votes of thanks. The Deputy Chief of Staff, Operation Lafiyà Dole, Colonel A. O Odubiyi thanked the CDS for this initiatives and organizing the musical concert to ginger the troops and the theater Commander for his support.
Highlights of the event were performanced by Daddy Shockry Vetrro and Dance pertinence by Mrs Rita Daniel to the admirations of the solders and their families.
