1ST October 1960 is the Day
Nigeria got Independence from the British Rule. So we Celebrate Independence
Day on 1st of October
Annually. Independence Day is declared as a National
Holiday in Nigeria. Independence Day include Celebrations of Singing Patriotic
Songs, Parades, Flag Hoisting followed by National
Anthem, Speech by the president.
Here We present you What Does Independence
Actually Mean to Nigerians and how they
Celebrate it.
1. For a School going Child It is a Day of
public holiday or to visit the School to witness Parade, Cultural Programs and
Finally to Receive Sweets or Chocolates.
2. For a Social media addict it is a Day to
Change their DP or status to Green white green.
3. For an Employee it is Day to take Rest
from his Busy Life and Spend Time with his Family
4. For a Child Labor it is a Day to Sell
Nigerian Flags and Earn More
Money.
5. For a Beggar it is Day to earn some more
Money as People will be
Liberal Today.
6. For a Politician it is the Day to Visit
People, Hoist the Flag and
Deliver a Patriotic Speech and Feel More
Patriotic.
7. For a TV Channel it is Day to show
“Independence Day Sponsors”
And Patriotic Films all the Day and of course
to change their Logo to
“Green white green”
8. It is an Another Hectic Day at Work for Journalists
and for Delivery Boys.
9. Some with spend the day with Sleep
and rest Due to the stress some Nigerians pass through between Mondays and
Fridays, they will use the public holiday declared for Independence to sleep.
Such people will not leave their house.
Since it is a paid national
holiday for most Nigerians, a full day of people partying and going for shows
with friends is typical of Independence Day celebrations. Basically, every
organization, company or business hosts some kind of party or event and a number
of them are free. The ones which require a fee are usually affordable too.
10. And finally it is a ROUTINE Day for
SOLDIERS and other security agencies protecting the Country.
This Independence Day let’s take a Minute to salute
our Nigeria Military for their Services.
The police and other security agencies are of no exception, they have no public holiday and they deserve to be praised.
